Pastor Brad Harlow has been in the ministry for 33 years. He began serving as pastor of FBC Carterville in 2004. He is originally from Herrin, Illinois. He has a Bachelor of Psychology Degree from Southern Illinois University and attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating from high school, Brad began a career as a welder for 10 years. After being called into the ministry, Brad was licensed and ordained at Hurricane Memorial Baptist Church in Herrin, Illinois. He has since served two other churches before coming to lead the congregation at FBC Carterville.
He has been married to Sherrie Harlow for 36 years. They have two sons, Kyle and Dustin, and his wife, Cynthia, and their children, Noah and Stella.
Brad led our congregation to adopt the motto “Believe - Belong - Become”. The church has a mission to lead people to “Believe” in God, “Belong” to a family of faith, and “Become” more like Christ as we grow in faith.

Marianne Cowan has been the secretary for FBC Carterville for 33 years. She has served under four Pastors, four Music Directors, and eight Youth Ministers. She publishes “The Visitor” (our newsletter) and our bulletin weekly. She maintains our financial and membership records, as well as many other duties for the church. In her spare time, she enjoys walking, bicycling, working in the yard, and reading. She is also a volleyball official for junior high and high school. If you have any questions about the church, she is sure to have the answer.
She has been married to Steve for 40 years. They have two children Christopher and Tierney, and two granddaughters, Preslie and Harlyn.
Ryan Tackett has been in the ministry since 2007. He began serving as the Minister to Youth and Families at FBC Carterville in June 2015. He is originally from Springfield, Illinois. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration from Western Illinois University. He is an online student at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Ryan was licensed as a minister at Chatham Baptist Church in Chatham, Illinois in 2009 and ordained as a minister at Calvary Baptist Church in Monticello, Illinois in 2012. Ryan's greatest joy is the relationship he has in Jesus Christ and his greatest desire in ministry is for others to find that same joy in Christ.
Ryan and his wife Claudia were married in 2009 and have three children, Anna (4), Amos (2), and Asher (2). Ryan and Claudia enjoy sports, the outdoors, reading, going to the park, and most importantly, raising and discipling their children to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ!
